Hub member Murieston Tennis and Sports Club has made some significant progress in their pursuit of funding, with a series of recent grant awards going their way including:- £136,190 from West Lothian Council as part of the Scottish Government’s 2023-24 Community Wealth Building & Place Based Investment Programme.- £25,000 from the West Lothian Development Trust, who administer funding received from local wind farm developments for the benefit of local communities.- £25,000 from the West Lothian Community Choices fund, a process of participatory budgeting which empowers people and communities to have a say in how public money is spent. These recent awards are in addition to an earlier pledge of £100,000 received from sportscotland’s facilities fund. This funding will help to bring this exciting project closer to fruition. Several key steps remain which the team are working hard to close out. Should everything fall into place it is hoped that construction work on the 3 tennis courts and 1 MUGA can begin in the Spring / Summer of 2024. Stay tuned for further updates.
